Arran Arts Heritage Trail

ACTIVITY

The Isle of Arran has a rich arts heritage which we believe deserves to be celebrated an documented. To do this, Arran Theatre and Arts Trust aim to establish an island wide Arts Heritage Trail. The trail will be an archive, which will consist of physical place markers, a dedicated website and accompanying leaflet and will highlight the many important visual artists who have been inspired by the environment and landscapes of Arran. The trail will for the first time make it possible for locals and visitors to visit, learn about and appreciate the locations which have inspired many important artists.

OUTCOME

This important element of cultural heritage is now being recorded and archived. The Arran Trust were supportive of the project which is ongoing. Place-markers have been ordered and the Arts Heritage Trail will ensure that with the passing of time, the work of each historic artist is mapped. This will be the first time this arts heritage will be catalogued together as a clearly distinguished group of artists who have all been inspired by Arran.
